Start of Defense

13abc's video is not working, it appears that the first witness called by the Defense was Steve Forrester who was a witness for the Prosecution. If that is correct and not some wicked trick by Court TV, it doesn't appear that was a good decision.

More later...

Update: It did later appear that some of the many inconsistencies were pointed out. Especially when the focus was made what was said/written at the time of the murder versus today.

David Yonke's reporting on yesterday.

I think Art Marx's testimony had impact as well as the comparision done with scissors to the wounds:

Mr. Konop asked retired Toledo police Detective David Weinbrecht about a 1980 report he filed that said a pair of scissors was missing from the chapel. The report said informal tests of the scissors showed that they could have been used in the nun’s slaying.

But Detective Weinbrecht pointed to another sentence in the report that said Lucas County’s deputy coroner concluded that “the wounds on the victim’s face were made by a weapon sharper than scissors.”

It's been pointed out by several witnesses that the letter opener is not sharp.

13abc did not do their daily write up as to what happened in the trial.

NBC24 gives us this

Both 13 and 11 news reports have started to speculate if Father Robinson is going to testify.

That was very interesting, that confirms what Father Robinson said about where he got the letter opener from. It's also obvious if Telsa is being accurate (not dissing him but we don't know for sure since it is the internet) that he feels Father Robinson is innocent.

Makes me realize I'm not into this trial quite as much as some others. Reading about several of them going out and buying a similar letter opener or practicing with scissors to see if it was possible is a bit more interactive than I'd be. I though searching for pictures of similar letter openers was enough. They did have some valid points about the way a letter opener would be designed to be held. Thank you very much for the link.

I was unable to hear what Father Robinson said about who gave it to him, despite seeing the video several times. Did he give a name? Did he say it was Boy Scouts?

Oh-oh. Sorry for the double post. It didn't seem to go through when I tried first time.

Yes, during the two hour video session he did state (though it was faint) that he got the letter opener from the Boy Scouts.

I had heard that before but that confirmed it for me.

(Don't worry about double posting it happens sometime - blogger is not always the greatest but it is free.)

Do you happen to have a link to a photo of the blood transfer pattern allegedly showing part of the medallion?

Laura thanks for visiting and I look forward to future discussions, I'll make sure to visit you when this is over.

Anon...I haven't seen any photos of the evidence released. All I can suggest is rewatching the testimony. Link should have what you are looking for.

Thanks, but I'm looking for a still shot, close up. Because I'm snoopy.
